Demonstrating the historical and social rise and fall in literature is
an undeniable issue. It is clear that woman who is a member of the society has
a significant role in completing human societies and there are different attitudes
towards her. Scholars and intellectuals as sensitive people determine the weak
and strength points of the society and express them in an artistic way. Choobak
wrote his novel “Sang e Saboor” fifteen years after Hedayat’s death. His work
is completely similar to Hedayat’s “Boof e koor” in terms of its theme. In other
words, both of them show the character of the Iranian woman living in 1320’s to
1340’s. In this article, comparing Hedayat’s “Boof e Koor” and Choobak’s “Sang
e Saboor”, we come to the conclusion that reflecting the ugly and negative side of
woman’s character, these works intends to show that woman has not the desirable
and expected place in the society.
