THE ROLE OF JORDANIAN POETRY IN RESISTANCE JORDANIAN- ISRAELI PEACE CONVENTION

Abstract

Abstract: Jordanian –Israeli peace convention which is signed in 1994 revealed a clear impact in

the reality of life  especially in politics,  social life, economical and cultural life. 

This study aims to demonstrate the role of Jordanian poetry  in resistance this convention and guiding the public opinion to reject it. And it appeared through the description of poets to the negative political life that the Arab nation live in, and demonstrate the attributes of Israeli people, as well  as the invitation of poets to liberate the homeland from the occupier.

Jordanian – Israeli peace convention left a clear impact in the Jordanian poetry through the rejection of the continuing of Israeli occupation to Palestine and the continuation of the policy of killing and displacement  which practiced against the Palestinian people.

This study reveals on a clear impact of the poetry in resisting this convention and the condemnation of Israeli practices on the Palestinian ground , so the Jordanian poetry takes on his consideration  to express  on this conviction by declaration sometimes and  hint on the other time , also poets show in Jordan on  the different intellectual attitudes their own desires to make their poetry express on their feelings and emotions to reject the form of contemporary  peace with Israel
