Abstract
Abstract: Cities that were common living spaces of people for thousands of years began to develop rapidly with the influence of the Industrial Revolution and have become the attraction center of people for an ideal life. Because the city has many advantages such as the prevalence of health, transportation and education services and the excess of job opportunities. However, on the other hand, factors such as crowded population, traffic-transportation difficulties, concretion, air pollution, unemployment and shanty houses are also the negative aspects of the city. The poets who migrated from rural to urban tried to reveal the experiences they had in urban life, what was happening around them, and their emotional reactions from a poetic point of view. In this study, we attempted to examine the positive and negative aspects of contemporary Arab poets towards the city by revealing their different thoughts and reactions.
