ORTADOĞU SİYASETİ VE TOPLUMLARINI ANLAMA YOLLARI

Abstract

Bu makale, Ortadoğu siyaseti ve toplumlarını anlarken kullandığımız kategorilerin analizini
yapmayı ve Türkiye’den bölgeyi anlamaya dair çalışmalarda atılabilecek kuramsal adımları ve
bunların sonuçlarını tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Öncelikle Ortadoğu kavram ve gerçekliğinin
ortaya çıkışını tartışmakta, daha sonra bu çalışma alanının sosyal bilimler içinde gelişimiyle,
Ortadoğu’nun emperyal bir müdehale alanına dönüşmesinin ilişkisini irdelemektedir. Bu
tartışmayı müteakip daha isabetli sosyal bilimsel yaklaşımların Şarkiyatçılık sonrası gelişimini
özetlemektedir. Şarkiyatçılık perspektifi dışında Ortadoğu’ya yaklaşımların bir değerlendirmesini
yapan makale, Ortadoğu toplum ve siyasetine dair isabetli bir tahlil için gerekli asgari kuramsal ve
ampirik çerçevenin tasviri ile sonlanmaktadır.
