FUNCTIONS OF -GAN (-AN) AFFIX IN HISTORICAL AND CONTEMPORARY TURKIC LANGUAGES
Abstract
This paper studies -GAn (-An), one of the most
common participle affix of Turkic. It has been attempted to identify the
periods in which the functions of affix began and how they continued to be used
by comparing historical Turkic dialect and the present Western, Northern and
Eastern Turkic. This paper studies grammar books and papers about
historical and contemporary Turkic also works published in this field.
