Abdülhak Hâmid'in Mütareke Döneminde Ali Kemal'e Gönderdiği Bir Mektup

Abstract

Türk edebiyatında mektup türünü en fazla kullanan şahsiyetlerin

başında Abdülhak Hâmid gelmektedir. Onun, Tanzimat, II. Meşrutiyet ve

Cumhuriyet dönemlerine yayılan mektupları kitap hâline getirilmiştir. Bununla

beraber emsallerine göre çok uzun yaşamış ve geniş bir çevreye sahip

olmuş Hâmid’in yazdığı mektupları bir araya getirmenin zorluğu ortadadır.

Nitekim araştırmalar ilerledikçe şairin külliyatına girmemiş yeni mektupları

ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu makalede Hâmid’in Mütareke döneminde Peyâm

gazetesinde neşredilen bir mektubu üzerinde durulacak, ardından çeviri-yazı

olarak mektup metni verilecektir. Peyâm gazetesi sahibi ve başyazarı Ali

Kemal’e gönderilen mektubun konusu edebîdir ve şairin şiir ve tenkit konusundaki

görüşlerini içermektedir. Mektup, edebiyat anlayışıyla pekçok

eleştirilere muhatap olmuş olan Abdülhak Hâmid’in özellikle bu konusunda

nasıl bir tavra sahip olduğunu göstermesi bakımından önemlidir.

A Letter Which Was Sent to Ali Kemal By Abdülhak Hâmid in the Period of Armistice

Abstract

Abdülhak
Hâmid is one of the leading people who used the type of letter most. His books
which had been published in the era of Tanzimat, The Second Constitutional Era
and Republic was made into a book. Nonetheless, the difficulty of getting his
all letters together is evident as Hamid lived longer than his peers and was
into contact with a wide range of people. Thus, as researches progress, there
are new letters appearing which was not involved in the poet’s corpus. This
article will focus on a letter that was published in Peyâm newspaper in the era of Armistice and then, the letter will
be given as a text transcript. The topic of the letter, which was sent to Ali
Kemal who was the head of Peyâm
newspaper and editor-in-chief, is literary and contains the views of the poet
about poem and criticism. The letter is important in terms of showing the
attitude of Abdülhak Hâmid about this topic, who was highly criticised because
of his understanding of literature.
