Publication Ethics

Manuscripts submitted to the Iyu Journal of Health Sciences must not have been published previously or simultaneously submitted to another journal.

Following an initial editorial assessment for compliance with the journal's scope and formatting requirements, eligible manuscripts enter the double-blind peer review process and are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's formatting requirements or fall outside the journal's scope are returned to the authors without external review.

The journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all necessary precautions to prevent publication misconduct.

All clinical and experimental studies involving human participants, including case reports and drug trials, must comply with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Accordingly, studies involving human subjects must have received approval from an institutional ethics committee in accordance with the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki: Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects.

For studies involving human participants or human biological materials, authors must state that written informed consent was obtained from all participants after they had been adequately informed about the procedures involved in the study.

Information regarding ethics committee approval (approval number and date) and informed consent must be included in the Materials and Methods section of the manuscript.

Ethics committee approval is not required for review articles or studies conducted solely using publicly available/open-access datasets.

Studies involving experimental animals must comply with the principles outlined in the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. Authors should clearly describe the measures taken to minimize animal suffering and provide details of the relevant ethical approval in the Materials and Methods section.

Authors are expected to cite all sources appropriately and in accordance with ethical publishing standards. Any substantial similarity to previously published work without proper citation constitutes plagiarism.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate. The maximum acceptable overall similarity index is 15%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be rejected.

During the review process, authors may be requested to provide the raw data or other supporting evidence related to their research. Authors are expected to retain the original research data for at least five years following publication.

If authors identify a significant error in their published or submitted work, they are obliged to notify the editor promptly and cooperate fully during any correction or retraction process.

Only individuals who have made a substantial scholarly contribution to the study should be listed as authors. Authorship should be limited to individuals who have significantly contributed to one or more of the following:

the conception or design of the study;

data collection, analysis, or interpretation;

drafting or critically revising the manuscript for important intellectual content;

approval of the final version of the manuscript.

All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission and agree to its publication.

Individual author contributions must be disclosed in the Conflict of Interest Declaration Form. Although all authors share responsibility for the integrity of the manuscript, the corresponding author is responsible for completing and submitting the required declaration forms.

Publication Fee Policy

The Iyu Journal of Health Sciences does not charge any fees at any stage of the publication process. No submission fees, editorial processing charges, language editing fees, page charges, color printing fees, membership fees, subscription fees, or other publication-related charges are requested from authors.

The journal is an open-access publication. Neither authors nor readers are required to pay any fee for manuscript submission, publication, or access to published articles.
