Aile Hekimleri İçin 2024 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Kılavuzlarındaki Güncellenmiş Hipertansiyon Yönetimi

Year 2024, Volume: 3 Issue: 4, 143 - 145, 20.12.2024

Abstract

Updated Hypertension Management in the 2024 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Guidelines for Family Physicians

Year 2024, Volume: 3 Issue: 4, 143 - 145, 20.12.2024

Abstract

Aim
This article aims to summarize the important updates to the 2024 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Guidelines for the Management of Elevated Blood Pressure and Hypertension for family physicians. The aim is to help family physicians improve their hypertension screening, diagnosis and management strategies, and to highlight the new “elevated blood pressure” classification in particular.
Material and Methods
Our article summarizes the 2024 ESC guideline recommendations under the following headings: Definition of elevated blood pressure, correct blood pressure measurement, screening protocols, risk stratification and treatment methods.
Conclusion
The use of the “elevated blood pressure” category offers early intervention opportunities. The importance of out-of-office measurements in diagnosis is emphasized. Individualized treatment based on risk scoring is emphasized.
The 2024 ESC Guidelines for the Management of Elevated Blood Pressure and Hypertension have highlighted the possibility of earlier diagnosis and a comprehensive approach to hypertension management, particularly with the addition of the “elevated blood pressure” category. By providing family physicians with up-to-date diagnosis, treatment and monitoring strategies, it ensures effective hypertension management at the primary care.
