Gençlerde Din ve Hayat Algısı: Hallyu Örneği

Abstract

Kültür zaman içinde değişir ve diğer kültürleri etkileyebilir, dönüştürebilir. Bunlardan birisi olan ve “Kore dalgası” olarak bilinen Hallyu’nun (한류) kültürel etkisi 90’ların sonundan itibaren Asya’nın ötesinde kendisini göstermeye başlamıştır. Türkiye’de Hallyu, TRT’de yayınlanan Güney Kore dizileri ile gençler arasında etkisini artırmıştır. Ergenlik ve ilk yetişkinlik döneminin bireyin din ve hayat algısını şekillendirmedeki yeri göz önüne alındığında bu dönemde gençlerin Hallyu’ya olan ilgilerinin din ve hayat algıları üzerindeki etkisini incelemek oldukça önemlidir. Nitel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılarak Türkiye’deki 14-28 yaş arası genç bireylerle gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada, liseden yüksek lisansa, farklı seviyelerde eğitim alan 25 kişiden yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat tekniği ile veri toplanmış ve halka açık etkinlikler ile çevrim içi platformlarda katılımcı gözlem gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma süreci boyunca elde edilen gözlem ve mülakat verileri tematik içerik analizi ile incelenmiş ve bulgular bilimsel açıdan yorumlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında gençlerin genel olarak Hallyu’yu bir sosyal destek ve başa çıkma mekanizması olarak kullandıkları, kapsayıcı bir hayat anlamına sahip olmadıkları, aynı zamanda din ve Tanrı algılarının güven ve huzur arayışlarını desteklediği görülmüştür. Öte yandan gençlerin, Hallyu öğeleri aracılığı ile sosyal aidiyet ve duygusal destek buldukları, dinî algılarında ise hem pozitif hem de negatif duygular yaşadıkları, çoğunlukla çevresel faktörlerden dolayı bireysel bir dindarlık yaşamayı tercih ettikleri gözlemlenmiştir.

Perception of Religion and Life Among Adolescents: Hallyu Sample

Abstract

Culture evolves over time, influencing and transforming other cultures. One of them is Hallyu (한류), known as “Korean Wave,” whose cultural impact began to extend beyond Asia in the late 1990s. In Turkey, Hallyu’s influence has increased among youth, primarily through South Korean dramas aired on TRT. Given the significance of adolescence and early adulthood in shaping an individual’s perception of religion and life, examining the impact of youth’s interest in Hallyu on these perceptions is crucial. Using qualitative research methods, this study was conducted with adolescents in Turkey aged 14-28, from high school to graduate-level education, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and participant observation at public events and online platforms. Observational and interview data gathered during the research were analyzed through thematic content analysis, and findings were interpreted scientifically. The study reveals that adolescents generally use Hallyu as a social support and coping mechanism, as they seek security and peace through their perceptions of religion and deity without embracing an encompassing life philosophy. Furthermore, it was observed that youth found social belonging and emotional support through Hallyu elements and experienced both positive and negative feelings in their religious perceptions, often opting for individual religiosity due to environmental factors.
