The Journal of Advancements in Education (JAE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, transparency, impartiality, and scientific responsibility throughout the processes of manuscript submission, peer review, editorial decision-making, publication, and post-publication.
JAE employs a double-blind peer review model and expects authors, reviewers, editors, Editorial Board members, and the publisher to adhere to nationally and internationally recognized ethical principles of scientific publishing. The journal follows and adopts the guidelines of COPE and the Declaration of Helsinki, as well as the relevant regulations of the Turkish Council of Higher Education, applicable national and institutional research ethics regulations, and recognized standards for interdisciplinary reporting and research integrity.
JAE aims to prevent ethical issues prior to publication, investigate allegations impartially, protect the rights of all parties, and transparently correct the scientific record when necessary.
Core Ethical Principles
The journal's approach to publication ethics is based on four core principles.
Prevention
JAE aims to identify potential ethical concerns at the earliest possible stage through editorial screening, similarity checks, the review of ethical approval documents, the evaluation of authorship statements, and the careful management of the peer review process.
Impartiality
Ethical concerns and allegations are evaluated in a fair, objective, and unbiased manner. Decisions are based on available evidence, applicable policies, and recognized ethical guidelines. Transparency
Where appropriate, relevant parties are informed of concerns arising during an investigation and are given a reasonable opportunity to provide explanations, evidence, or supporting documentation.
Consistency
Ethical concerns are addressed through consistent procedures. The journal takes into account relevant COPE guidelines and flowcharts when investigating suspected misconduct and determining appropriate action.
