Abstract

A female specimen of the Sparisoma cretense (Linnaeus, 1758), with 52.0
cm total length and 2200.0 g total weight, was caught on the 26th July 2013 at
Karaburun (Izmir Bay, Aegean Sea). Its total length and weight were the
maximum observed values for the species in Mediterranean Sea.
