Case of Mediastinal Mature Cystic Teratoma

Abstract

Mediastinal masses can occur in all age groups due to various diseases. Teratomas, which are germ cell tumors, contain multiple layers of germ cells and their involvement in the mediastinum is rare. They are usually diagnosed incidentally through radiological imaging. In this presentation, we aim to discuss the case of a 23-year-old female patient who presented with a cough and was treated with VATS for a mature cystic teratoma located in the anterior mediastinum.

Mediastinal Matür Kistik Teratom Olgusu

Abstract

Mediastinal kitleler her yaş grubunda farklı hastalıklara bağlı ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Germ hücreli tümörlerden olan teratomda birden çok germ hücre tabakası bulunur ve mediasten tutulumu sık değildir. Genellikle insidental olarak radyolojik görüntülemerde tanı konulur. Bu sunumumuzda, öksürük şikayetiyle başvuran 23 yaşındaki kadın hastanın VATS ile opere ettiğimiz anterior mediasten yerleşimli matür kistik teratom olgusunu sunmayı amaçladık.
