Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy with Recurrent Cardioembolic Stroke: A Case Highlighting Thromboembolic Risks
Abstract
Cardiomyopathy in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy may increase cardioembolic stroke risk due to intracardiac thrombus formation. We present a young adult with prior stroke who developed recurrent ischemic stroke after temporarily stopping antiplatelet therapy for dental treatment, highlighting the importance of continued antithrombotic therapy and multidisciplinary follow-up.
