Hypnosis in Gastrointestinal System Diseases

Year 2020, Volume: 5 Issue: 1, 25 - 28, 01.04.2020

Abstract

Hypnosis, which is directed towards one's own subconscious mind, has recently become an increasingly used treatment method in gastrointestinal diseases. The aim of this review is to determine the gastrointestinal system diseases in which hypnosis is effective.
Among the diseases in which hypnosis can be effective, functional dyspepsia, nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy, chronic idiopathic nausea, hyperemesis gravidarum, eating disorders, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel diseases are shown.
