A Modified Log Ratio Type Estimator Under Non-Response Using Real Datasets

Abstract

The non-response problem has been examined using the subsampling approach, and this approach has been used to develop various types of estimators in the literature. Estimates of population parameters have been obtained by selecting the most efficient among estimators. In this study, a case in which non-response occurs in both the study variable and the auxiliary variable was considered, and a new log ratio type estimator that uses information from the auxiliary variable was proposed for the non-response literature. In efficiency comparisons, the proposed estimator was evaluated against existing estimators in the literature, and it was demonstrated that it performs better under certain conditions. The results are supported by numerical studies obtained from various application areas.
