Editors are responsible for enforcing strict ethical policies coupled with a rigorous blind peer-review process.

Area of Responsibility Requirements
Publication Decisions Decisions are based on the paperโ€™s importance, originality, and scope. Race, gender, belief, or political philosophy are disregarded.
Confidentiality Information about a submitted manuscript is not disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.
Conflict of Interest Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted paper will not be used by the editors for their own research without the author's written consent.

2. Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Contribution: Assists the editor in making decisions and helps the author improve the paper.
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents and not discussed with others.
  • Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism is inappropriate.
  • Source Acknowledgement: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.

3. Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

๐Ÿšซ Plagiarism Policy: Aerospace Science and Management (JASAM) has zero tolerance for plagiarism. All manuscripts are checked for similarity. If the similarity rate is above 25% or data fabrication is detected, the manuscript will be rejected.

  • Ghost authorship or concealing authors.
  • Data fabrication or falsification.
  • Citation manipulation.

4. Open Access and Copyright

๐Ÿ”“ Open Access Policy:

Aerospace Science and Management (JASAM) adopts the open access policy in line with the Budapest, Berlin, and Bethesda Open Access Declarations.
Licensing: Articles are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright but allow the work to be shared freely with proper citation.

5. Management of Ethical Violations

Ethical issues raised by readers or reviewers are examined in accordance with COPE guidelines.

  • Erratum: Published for minor errors.
  • Retraction: Applied in cases of serious errors invalidating results or ethical misconduct.

6. Policy on Open Access

JASAM provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Our journal adheres to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) standards.

6.1. Licensing and Copyright

All articles published in our journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

Under this license, users are free to:

6.2. Archiving Policy (Sherpa/Romeo)

Authors are permitted to self-archive their work in institutional or thematic repositories under the following conditions:

Version Permission Status Embargo Period
Pre-print
Initial draft before peer review
Allowed None (Immediate)
Post-print
Accepted version after peer review
Allowed None (Immediate)
Publisher's Version
Final PDF published in the journal
Allowed None (Immediate)

*When archiving, authors must include the bibliographic citation and the DOI number indicating that the article was published in our journal.

6.3. Fee Policy (Diamond Open Access)

  • Article Processing Charge (APC): None. No fees are requested from authors.
  • Subscription Fee: None. All content is free for readers.

6.4. Technical Infrastructure and OAI-PMH

JASAM provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. This declaration has been recorded through the signing of the Budapest Open Access Declaration by Erciyes University at the publisher level.

The Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) allows for the efficient exchange of metadata. Choosing appropriate software (OAI-PMH compliant) to meet the conditions of international promotion and inclusion in international open archives is one of the most important issues in establishing an institutional repository project. The main purpose of OAI-PMH is to provide access to academic archives all over the world via a web interface by providing free access to metadata.

In this respect, our journal supports the OAI-PMH protocol. All published content and data are open to access by external indices in Dublin Core format.

7. Policy on the Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies

JASAM aims to provide transparency regarding the use of Generative AI. This policy will be updated in line with technological developments.

Authors may use AI tools for literature synthesis, language editing, and readability. However, these tools must be used under human oversight and control.

7.1. Author Responsibilities & Accountability

Category Mandatory Actions
Privacy Do not upload unpublished data or PII to AI tools. Check the terms of use.
Intellectual Property Ensure no content infringing on IP rights is uploaded to the AI tool.
Verification Verify all AI outputs for accuracy and bias. (Note: AI-generated references can be fabricated; always check primary sources.)
Originality Edit the content to reflect the author's own analysis and voice.

7.2. Disclosure Requirements

Authors must disclose the use of AI tools upon submission. Place the following statement at the end of the manuscript, before References:

Heading: Declaration on the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process
Example: "During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [Name of the Tool / Service] in order to [Reason]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication."

7.3. Authorship

โŒ AI tools cannot be listed as an author. Authorship implies responsibilities that can only be attributed to humans.

7.4. Use of AI in Images & Figures

โœ… Permitted ๐Ÿšซ Prohibited
  • Adjustments to brightness, contrast, or color balance (if no info is obscured).
  • Exception: If AI use is part of the research design/methods (e.g., biomedical imaging). This must be described in the Methods section.
  • Creating or altering images using Generative AI.
  • Adding, removing, moving, or obscuring features within an image.
  • Using AI to create graphical abstracts.

*The journal reserves the right to use image forensics tools to detect irregularities.
