The Times Gazetesine Göre Bağdat Paktı’nın Kuruluş Süreci

Abstract

İkinci Dünya Savaşı’nın hemen bitiminde dünya, Batı ve Doğu bloku olmak üzere ortaya çıkan iki kutuplu ‘Soğuk Savaş’ adını alan bir sistem içerisine girmiştir. Bu gruplaşma sisteminde Türkiye, ABD’nin yanında yer alarak Batı Bloğunun doğal bir üyesi haline gelmiştir. Bu dönemde bölgede İngiltere’nin aktifliğinin azalması ve Türkiye’nin ABD’nin yanında yer almasının doğal bir sonucu olarak Ortadoğu’da etkisi artmış, oluşturduğu güvenlik politikalarının akabinde Bağdat Paktı kurulmuştur. Bu makalede, paktın kuruluşunun ve ilerleyen süreç içerisinde paktaki çatırdamaların İngiliz basınında tirajı en yüksek gazetelerinden biri olan The Times gazetesine yansımalarından bahsedilecektir.

The Establishment Process of the Baghdad Pact According to The Times Newspaper

Abstract

Immediately after the end of the Second World War, the World entered a bipolar system called the ‘Cold War’, consisting of the Western and Eastern blocs. In this grouping system, Turkey has become a natural member of the Western Bloc by siding with the USA. During this period, as a natural result of the decrease in Britain’s activity in the region and Turkey’s side with the USA, its influence in the Middle East increased, and the Baghdad Pact was established following the security policies it created. This article will talk about the establishment of the pact and the reflections of the cracks in the pact on The Times newspaper, one of the newspapers with the highest circulation in the British press.
