Abstract

With the increasing sector diversity today, aviation companies are required to comply with the rules in the current system in order to keep up with the competition conditions. Failure to pay due attention to the safety factor results in damages that can not be recovered. An effective Safety Management System (SMS) is needed for aviation companies to minimize the damage that may occur. In this context, trainings related to the the SMS, effective implementation of management policies and fulfilling the procedural responsibilities will increase both the success and image of the institution and will lead to have an influence on the sector. The main purpose of this research is to determine the effect of SMS applications on corporate image. In this context, the research was carried out on pilotage students who were trained in flight training organizations in Istanbul, Ankara, Samsun and Adana provinces operating under the General Directorate of Civil Aviation. 286 data collected by survey technique were analyzed with statistical package programs (SPSS 21.0 ve AMOS 20.0). Following descriptive statistics, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyzes were applied for both scales. With the structural modifications made to ensure both cultural and sectoral compliance, the validity and reliability of the scales were provided. Then, normality and descriptive statistics were examined. Finally, correlation and regression analyzes were performed to test the hypotheses of the research. As a result, it has been determined that the SMS applications have a positive effect on the corporate image. This result shows that the applications related to the SMS have a direct effect on the image of the corporate. The smallest mistake to be made as a result of insecurity has uncompensable results, has made it obligatory for aviation companies to comply with the rules regarding SMS. In this context, some useful suggestions have been made that businesses operating in the aviation sector should consider.

Emniyet Yönetim Sistemi Uygulamalarının Kurumsal İmaj Üzerindeki Etkileri: Uçuş Eğitim Organizasyonlarında Bir Araştırma

Year 2020, , 45 - 60, 24.06.2020
