Eğitimde Hümanist İletişim ve Empatik Bağ: Taare Zameen Par / Yerdeki Yıldızlar Filminin Birey Merkezli Yaklaşım Açısından Söylem Analizi

Traditional methods in education influence how individuals communicate. In particular, humanistic communication and empathy have a positive impact on students' communication with their teachers and, consequently, on the learning process. The aim of this study is to examine the positive effects of an empathetic approach on student behavior in teacher-student communication within the framework of Carl Rogers' person-centered approach. For this purpose, the discourse analysis technique of qualitative research methods was used. The film was analyzed at the micro level within the framework of linguistic elements, intertextuality, and context. The object of the research is the film Taare Zameen Par. The film was selected using purposive sampling because it directly depicts the communication between a student with a learning disability and a teacher who approaches him empathetically, and the role of this communication in the student's behavioral transformation. According to the findings of the research, it has been revealed that the didactic, one-sided, and oppressive language of traditional/authoritarian educational approaches creates feelings of fear, anxiety, and insecurity in students, especially those with special needs, leading to academic failure, unhappiness, and a decreased desire to socialize. Conversely, it has been found that the two-way, empathetic, flexible, and libertarian language of humanist/individual-centered pedagogical approaches enables students to discover their potential and build self-confidence.

Eğitimde geleneksel yöntemler bireylerin iletişim kurma biçimlerini etkilemektedir. Özellikle hümanist iletişim ve empati öğrencilerin öğretmenle iletişim kurma dolayısıyla öğrenme süreci üzerinde olumlu etki yaratmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmen-öğrenci iletişiminde empatik yaklaşımın öğrenci davranışları üzerindeki olumlu etkilerini Carl Rogers’ın birey merkezli yaklaşımı çerçevesinde incelemektir. Bu amaçla çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi benimsenmiş söylem analizi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Film, dilbilimsel unsurlar, metinlerarasılık ve bağlam çerçevesinde mikro düzeyde çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın inceleme nesnesini; 'Taare Zameen Par' (Yerdeki Yıldızlar / Her Çocuk Özeldir) adlı sinema filmi oluşturmaktadır. Film, öğrenme güçlüğü (disleksi) problemi yaşayan bir öğrenci (Ishaan) ile ona empatiyle yaklaşan bir öğretmenin (Ram Shankar Nikumbh) iletişimini ve bu iletişimin öğrencinin davranışsal dönüşümündeki rolünü doğrudan işlemesi nedeniyle amaçlı örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre geleneksel/otoriter eğitim yaklaşımlarının didaktik, tek yönlü ve baskıcı dilinin öğrencilerde özellikle özel gereksinimli öğrencilerde korku, kaygı ve güvensizlik hissi yarattığı, bu durumun öğrencilerde akademik başarısızlığa, mutsuzluğa ve sosyalleşme isteğinin azalmasına neden olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Hümanist/birey merkezli pedagojik yaklaşımlarının çift yönlü, empatik, esnek ve özgürlükçü dilinin ise öğrencilerin potansiyelini keşfetmesini, özgüven duymasını sağladığı bulgulanmıştır.
