Abstract

This review criticizes the book "Activism and Women's NGOs in Turkey: Civil Society, Feminism and Politics." Based on interviews from 41 different people from 10 different women's NGOs, the book explores women's rights in Turkey and the extent to which women activists find a place for themselves in civil society. To support this research, the book seeks answers to questions about what the Women's NGOs understanding of civil society is in Turkey and what kind of reflections and effects this understanding has on the dominating understanding of the civil society in Turkey.

KITAP İNCELEMESI: ASUMAN ÖZGÜR KEYSAN - TÜRKIYE'DE AKTIVIZM VE KADIN STK'LARI: SIVIL TOPLUM, FEMINIZM VE POLITIKA

Abstract

Bu derleme, "Türkiye'de Aktivizm ve Kadın STK'ları: Sivil Toplum, Feminizm ve Politika" kitabını eleştiriyor. 10 farklı kadın STK'sından 41 farklı kişiyle yapılan röportajlara dayanan kitap, Türkiye'de kadın haklarını ve kadın aktivistlerin sivil toplumda kendilerine ne ölçüde yer bulduğunu araştırıyor. Bu araştırmayı desteklemek için kitap, Türkiye'de Kadın STK'larının sivil toplum anlayışının ne olduğu ve bu anlayışın Türkiye'deki hakim sivil toplum anlayışına ne tür yansımaları ve etkileri olduğu sorularına yanıt arıyor.
