Deli Bal Zehirlenmesi; Olgu Sunumu

Abstract

İçerisinde grayanotoksin bulunduran Rhododendron familyası bitkilerinden beslenen arıların ürettiği bal, ülkemizde halk arasında deli bal, tutar bal veya acı bal olarak bilinir. Bu balın yenilmesi sonrasında doza bağımlı olarak insanlarda hafif sindirim sistemi irritasyon bulgularından, yaşamı tehdit edebilen bradiaritmiler, hipotansiyon ve santral sinir sistemi etkilenimine kadar birçok semptoma sebep olabilir. Biz bu yazıda acil servise baş dönmesi ve halsizlik şikayetiyle baş vuran hastanın çekilen elektrokardiyografisinde Mobitz tip 1 blok saptadıktan sonra öykünün derinleştirilmesiyle bu semptomlar oluşmadan yaklaşık 1 saat önce bal yediği öğrenilen bir olguyu tartıştık.

Mad Honey Poisoning; A Case Report

Abstract

The honey which is produced by the bees, which feed whith the rhododendron family plants that include grayanotoksin is known as mad honey, wad honey or bitter honey in our country. Eating this honey dose dependently can cause a wide spectrum of symptoms, from non specific gastrointestinal symptoms to life threatening bradyarrhythmias, hypotension and central nervous system effects. In this case we discussed a patient who admitted emergency service with dizziness and had Mobitz type 1 block in electrocardiography after more detailed anamnesis and we discovered that our patient had eaten mad honey just one hour before the beginning of the symptoms.
