Abstract

Giriş: Göğüs cerrahisi hekimlerinin en çok ilgilendikleri konulardan
biri toraks travmaları ve bunun neden olduğu kot fraktürleri ile sonucunda
ortaya çıkan komplikasyonlardır. Kot fraktürlü hastalarda tedavi
genellikle konservatiftir. Ancak, bazı durumlarda kırık kostalar komplike
durumlara yol açabilmekte ve cerrahi onarım gerektirmektedir.
Olgu Sunumu: Acil servise trafik kazasına bağlı sol hemopnömotoraks
ve yelken göğüs ile başvuran, parenkim
içine batarak akciğerin ekspansiyonunu önleyen kırık kotlar
nedeniyle cerrahi onarım gereken bir olgu sunulmuştur.
Sonuç: Konservatif tedavinin yetersiz kaldığı, seçilmiş hastalarda
kırık kostaların stabilizasyonunun gerekli olduğu kanısındayız.

Rib Fractures Requiring Surgical Repair: A Case Report

Abstract

Introduction: Rib fracture due to chest trauma and complications caused by the fractures is one of the topics which mostly interests thoracic surgeons. For the patients with rib fractures therapy is generally conservative. However, in some conditions fractured ribs can cause complicated situations and surgical repair is necessary.Case Report: A patient applied to our emergency room with left hemopneumothorax and flail chest due to traffic accident, requiring surgical repair due to fractured ribs penetrating into parenchyma preventing lung expansion, is presented.Conclusion: We are in the opinion of stabilization of fractured ribs in selected patients when conservative treatment is inadequate
