MARMARA BÖLGESİ P DALGA HIZI DEĞİŞİMİ VE KABUK KALINLIĞININ BELİRLENMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Marmara bölgesi ve Marmara denizi altındaki kabuk yapısının üç boyutlu P- dalgası tomografi görüntülerini belirledik. Bu işlem yapılırken Poisson Oranı Tomografi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu yöntemle cisim dalgalarının varış zamanlarının parametrelerini hesaplanmıştır. Çalışma alanında 2007-2019 yılları arasında meydana gelen 121574 adet depremin P- dalgası varış zamanları bölgenin üç boyutlu hız yapısını belirlemek için kullanılmıştır. Başlangıç hız modeli olarak bir çok model ile dama tahtası çözünürlük testi uygulanmış en yüksek çözünürlüğü aldığımız hız modeli ile tomografi yöntemi yapılmıştır. Elde ettiğimiz sonuçlardan, Marmara'nın orta kesiminde hızların düştüğü saptanmıştır. Genel olarak hızların derinliği yaklaşık olarak 15 km'den itibaren Sismik hızlar düşüş göstermektedir. Diğer çalışmalardan farklı olarak Kuzey Anadolu Fay Zonunun kolları üzerinde hangi segmentlerde P- dalga hızlarının düştüğü belirlenmiştir. Marmara bölgesinin ortalama Moho derinliği ise 28 km olarak saptanmıştır. Marmara bölgesinin kabuk yapısındaki bu düşük hızlı alanları belirlemek büyük depremler üretebilecek segmentlerin saptanması bakımından önemlidir. Bu da marmara bölgesinin kabuk yapısının belirlenmesini önemli kılmaktadır.

DETERMINATION OF MARMARA REGION P WAVE VELOCTIY AND THE CRUSTAL THICKNESS

Abstract

In this study, we determined three-dimensional P- wave tomography images of the crustal structure of the Marmara region and under the Marmara Sea. Poisson Ratio Tomography method was used in this process. With this method, the parameters of the arrival times of the body waves were calculated. The P- wave arrival times of 121574 earthquakes that occurred in the study area between 2007 and 2019 were used to determine the three-dimensional velocity structure of the region. As the initial velocity model, the checkerboard resolution test was applied with many models, and the tomography method was performed with the velocity model, where we got the highest resolution. From the results we obtained, it was determined that the velocities decreased in the central part of Marmara. In general, the seismic velocities show a decrease from the depth of the velocities approximately 15 km. Unlike other studies, it was determined in which segments the P-wave velocities decreased on the branches of the North Anatolian Fault Zone. The average Moho depth of the Marmara region is 28 km. Identifying these low-velocity areas in the crustal structure of the Marmara region is important in terms of identifying segments that can produce large earthquakes. This makes it important to determine the crustal structure of the Marmara region.
