Relation Between Submucosal Fibroid Size and Serum Hemoglobin Levels

Abstract

Aim: It was aimed to evaluate the interrelation of preoperative hemoglobin levels with myoma size of operated patients who were diagnosed with submucousmyoma.Material And Methods: This study, which was conducted in Zekai Tahir Burak Women’s Health Education and Research Hospital - Gynecology Department, included the patients who underwent transvaginal ultrasound and office hysteroscopy, were diagnosed with submucous myoma and applied submucous myomectomy with operative hysteroscopy, and premenopausal patients having pathology results compatible with myoma. Patients’ clinical and laboratory data, which were obtained through retrospective investigation of patient files, were analyzed statistically after data was transferred to SPSS 15.0.Results: Mean age of 86 patients, who were included in the study, was 43.14 ± 5.54. Average diameter of submucous myoma was 3.48±1.10cm. Majority of the myoma were localized in the lateral 31% and front 26% walls. Anemia was detected at 44,1 % n=38 of those patients. No correlation was found between serum hemoglobin level and the size of myoma at Pearson Correlation Analysis CC=0.081; p=0.458 .Conclusion: There was no correlation between the size of myoma and serum hemoglobin levels.

Submuköz Myom Boyutu Ve Serum Hemoglobin Seviyesi Arasındaki İlişki

Abstract

Amaç: Submuköz myom tanısı ile opere edilen hastalarda preoperatif hemoglobin düzeylerinin myom boyutu ile ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı.Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya Ağustos 2013-Haziran 2015 tarihleri arasında Zekai Tahir Burak Kadın Sağlığı Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesi jinekoloji kliniğinde anormal uterin kanama şikayeti nedeniyle operatif histeroskopi ile submuköz myomektomi yapılan ve patoloji sonucu myomla uyumlu çıkan premenopozal hastalar dahil edildi.Hastalarla ilgili klinik ve laboratuvar verileri hasta dosyalarından retrospektif olarak incelendi.Veriler SPSS 15.0’e aktarılıp istatistiksel analizi yapıldı.Bulgular: Çalışmaya dahil edilen 86 hastanın ortalama yaşı 43,14±5,54 idi. Submuköz myomların ortalama çapı 3,48±1,10 cm idi. Myomlarin büyük kısmı yan %31 ve ön %26 duvarda lokalize idi. Hastaların %44,1 n=38 ’ inde anemi saptandı. Pearson korelasyon analizinde serum hemoglobin seviyesi ile myomun boyutu arasında herhangi bir korelasyon saptanmadı CC=0,081; p=0,458 .Sonuç: Premenopozal kadınlarda submuköz myom boyutu ile serum hemoglobin değerleri arasında ilişki saptanmadı.
