Abstract

Aim: Cervical cancer is still one of the most important causes of mortality in developing countries. Screening programs for cervical cancer constitutes a major importance to decrease the incidence and mortality rates. The aim of this study is to determine the tendency of doctors, nurses and hospital staff, who work in our hospital and who have different socio-economical and cultural backgrounds, about cervical cancer screening programs and vaccination for cervical cancer.Material and Methods: A questionnaire consisting of 29 questions were asked to doctors, nurses and staff in our hospital.Results: A total of 153 participants answered the questions. Human Papilloma Virus HPV Enfeksiyonu ve HPV Aşısı Hakkında Bilgi Düzeyi ve Genel Eğilimler; Dumlupınar Üniversitesi - Evliya Çelebi Eğitim Ve Araştırma Hastanesi’ndeki Doktor, Hemşire ve Sağlık Personellerini İçeren Anket Taraması

Abstract

Amaç: Serviks kanseri özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkelerde, hala en ölümcül kanserlerden biridir. Servikal kanser tarama programları bu kanserin görülme sıklığını ve bu kanserden ölüm oranlarını azaltmak için son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı; hastanemizde çalışan değişik sosyoekonomik ve kültürel birikime sahip doktor, hemşire ve personel gruplarında, gerek serviks kanseri gerekse serviks kanserine yönelik aşı uygulamaları ile ilgili genel yaklaşımı tespit etmeye çalışmaktır.Gereç ve Yöntemler: Hastanemizde çalışan doktor, hemşire ve personellere 29 soruluk bir anket sunulmuş ve cevaplamaları istenmiştir.Bulgular: Araştırmaya toplamda 153 kişi katıldı. HPV enfeksiyonu, aşısı ve serviks kanseri hakkında bilgi ölçmeye yönelik sorularda gruplar arasında istatistiksel anlamlı fark mevcut idi p< 0.05 . Son 10 yıl içinde doktorların %13.2’si, hemşirelerin %26’sı ve sağlık personelinin de %46’sı smear testi yaptırdığını belirtti. Katılımcıların çoğu kendilerinden daha çok eşlerinin HPV aşısı yaptırması gerektiğini düşünürken, çocukları söz konusu olduğunda aşıyı daha çok kız çocuklarına yaptırma eğiliminde idiler.Tartışma: Çalışmamaızın sonucunda, sağlık çalışanlarında dahi gerek servikal taramaya gerekse aşı uygulamalarına gösterilen duyarlılığın son derece düşük olduğu görülmektedir. HPV insidansının her geçen gün arttığı düşünülür ise bu konuya yönelik önlemler süratle alınmalıdır.
