AUTHOR GUIDELINES
Journal of Global Tourism and Technology Research (JGTTR) adopts a format-free system during the manuscript submission process. Within this scope, authors are not required to place their manuscripts into the journal template. The process of adapting manuscripts to the journal layout will be carried out by the editorial board after acceptance. However, in order for the evaluation process to be conducted properly, quickly, and systematically, submitted manuscripts are expected to comply with the basic writing, content, and ethical rules specified below.
1. GENERAL PRINCIPLES
Manuscripts submitted to JGTTR must be original, must not have been published anywhere before, and must not be under evaluation in another journal simultaneously. The scientific, ethical, and legal responsibility of the manuscript belongs to the author(s).
Manuscripts submitted to our journal may be in Turkish or English. Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with academic writing conventions and in a clear, understandable, and grammatically careful manner. In manuscripts written in English, a consistent and academic language should be used.
2. DOUBLE-BLIND PEER REVIEW PRINCIPLE
A double-blind peer review system is applied in JGTTR. Therefore, the main manuscript file submitted for evaluation must not contain any information that may directly or indirectly reveal the identity of the author.
The following information must not be included in the main manuscript file:
• Author name and surname
• Institutional affiliation
• ORCID information
• E-mail address
• Acknowledgement note
• Project/funding information
• Statement indicating that the manuscript was derived from a thesis
• Expressions in self-citations that would reveal the author
Author information should be entered into the system separately or uploaded as a separate title page.
3. FILE STRUCTURE
During manuscript submission, it is recommended that the following two separate files be prepared:
a) Title Page
The following information should be included in this file:
• Full title of the manuscript
• Names and surnames of all authors
• Institutional affiliations
• Corresponding author information
• E-mail addresses
• ORCID numbers
• Acknowledgement, support, and project information, if necessary

b) Main Manuscript File
This file should be prepared in accordance with double-blind review and must not contain any information that reveals the identity of the author.
4. BASIC FORMATTING RULES
At the submission stage, manuscripts should be prepared according to the following basic formatting rules:
• Font: Times New Roman
• Font size: 12 pt
• Line spacing: 1.5
• Page size: A4
• Text alignment: justified
• Paragraphs should begin with an indentation
Authors are not required to use a specific journal template. However, the text must have an orderly, readable, and academically evaluable structure.
5. TITLE AND SUBHEADINGS
The title of the manuscript should be short, clear, original, and informative.
The title format should be as follows:
• Main title: Centered and bold
• Second-level headings: Left-aligned, bold, only the first letters of the words capitalized
• Third-level headings: Left-aligned and italic
The heading system should be used consistently throughout the text. Unnecessary and excessive use of subheadings should be avoided.
6. TITLE, ABSTRACT, ABSTRACT, AND KEYWORDS
The manuscript must include the following elements:
• Title of the manuscript
• English title
• English abstract
• English keywords
For manuscripts written in English, a Turkish title and abstract are not required.
Abstract and abstract:
• Should be between 150 and 200 words
• Should be written in a single paragraph
• Should briefly include the aim, method, main findings, and conclusion of the study
• Citations, footnotes, tables, figures, or references should not be included in the abstract
Keywords / keywords:
• Should be at least 3 and at most 5
• Should accurately reflect the content of the study
7. MANUSCRIPT SECTIONS
In non-empirical studies, the order of sections may be flexible. However, in general, manuscripts are expected to be prepared in accordance with the following scientific structure.
Introduction
In this section, the research topic should be introduced, the general framework of the problem should be presented, the importance of the topic should be explained, and the aim of the study should be clearly stated. In accordance with TR Dizin criteria, the ethics committee information should also be mentioned here.
Literature Review
In this section, the theoretical and conceptual foundations of the research should be explained, and previous studies related to the topic should be systematically evaluated. Gaps in the literature, controversial points, and the research gap should be clearly presented. If there are research hypotheses, they may be developed in this section.
Method
The method section should explain in detail how the research was conducted. In this section, the following issues should be included as appropriate:
• Research design
• Population and sample / study group
• Data collection tools
• Data collection process
• Data analysis techniques
• Validity and reliability / credibility and transferability measures
• Ethics committee, consent, and permission information
In theoretical studies and some studies in the nature of industry case examples, a method section may not be mandatory. However, in such studies, the approach followed should also be clearly presented.
Findings and Discussion
In the findings section, the data obtained should be presented objectively. Findings may be supported with tables and figures where necessary. In the discussion section, the meaning of the findings should be explained, comparisons with the relevant literature should be made, and similarities and differences should be evaluated. The contributions, limitations, and suggestions for future research may be stated in this section.
Conclusion and Recommendations
In this section, the main results of the research should be presented concisely and clearly. The results should be related to the aim and questions of the research. Recommendations may be made for practitioners, policymakers, industry representatives, or future researchers.
8. TABLES, FIGURES, AND IMAGES
Tables, figures, graphs, and images should be used in appropriate places within the text and should be numbered.
Tables:
• The table number and title should appear above the table
• The table title should be written in bold
• The table title should be explanatory
• Each table should be referred to in the text
• If necessary, source information should be given below the table
Figures, graphs, and images:
• The figure / image / graph number and title should appear below the relevant visual
• The title should be bold and centered
• Each figure or visual should be referred to in the text
If tables, figures, scales, questionnaires, photographs, or similar materials belonging to others are used, obtaining the necessary permissions and indicating them appropriately is the responsibility of the author.
9. ETHICS COMMITTEE, CONSENT, PERMISSION, AND COPYRIGHT
Compliance with research and publication ethics is the responsibility of the authors. For all studies requiring ethics committee approval, ethics committee approval must have been obtained; the name of the committee, date, and decision number must be clearly stated in the method section of the manuscript. Where necessary, this information should also be included on the first or last page of the manuscript.
Ethics committee approval may be required for the following types of studies:
• Research in which data are collected through surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, and experiments
• Clinical or experimental studies conducted on humans
• Research conducted on animals
• Retrospective studies evaluated within the scope of personal data
In case reports / case analyses, it should be stated that informed consent was obtained. If the necessary permissions were obtained from the institutions where the research was conducted, this should be stated in the manuscript. It is mandatory to obtain the necessary permissions and comply with copyright rules for scales, questionnaires, photographs, visuals, and similar materials belonging to others.
10. ETHICAL STATEMENT AND END-OF-MANUSCRIPT DECLARATIONS
At the end of the manuscript, the following statements should be included according to the nature of the study:
• Ethical Statement
• Author Contribution Statement
• Conflict of Interest Statement
• Support / Funding Information
• Acknowledgement Statement, if any
Artificial Intelligence Policy: If applicable, information on the use of artificial intelligence should be provided in a transparent and accurate manner. As the Journal of Global Tourism and Technology Research, while we do not adopt a completely prohibitive approach to the use of artificial intelligence tools in academic studies, we do not accept their use in a way that would overshadow the author’s intellectual contribution. In this context, we adopt the principles of artificial intelligence use determined by COPE, ICMJE and YÖK.
In the Ethical Statement section, it should be clearly stated whether ethics committee approval was obtained for the study. In studies that do not require ethics committee approval, this should also be written with an appropriate statement.
Sample ethical statement expressions:
Ethics committee approval for this study was obtained from the X University Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Committee, dated X and numbered X.
This study is not considered within the scope of research requiring ethics committee approval according to TR Dizin.
11. SIMILARITY REPORT
Authors may be asked to scan their manuscripts through similarity detection software (Turnitin, iThenticate, etc.) and upload the report to the system. JGTTR reserves the right to examine submitted manuscripts in terms of similarity and plagiarism.
The similarity rate of the manuscript, excluding the references, is expected to be within the acceptable limits of the journal. Manuscripts with inappropriate similarity, insufficient citation, plagiarism, or suspicion of ethical violation may be rejected at the preliminary review stage.
12. REFERENCES AND CITATION SYSTEM
In-text citations and references should be prepared according to the 7th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA).
All sources cited in the text must be included in the references; all sources included in the references must be cited in the text. Consistency in writing should be maintained, and incomplete or inconsistent referencing should be avoided.

In sources with three or more authors, from the first citation onward, only the surname of the first author and the expression “et al.” should be used. In English manuscripts, the expression “et al.” should be used.

More than one work by the same author in the same year should be shown as follows:
(Çelik, 2020a)
(Çelik, 2020b)
Multiple citations within the same parentheses should be separated by semicolons.
In the first use of institutional authors, the name of the institution should be written clearly, and if necessary, its abbreviation may be given in parentheses. In subsequent uses, only the abbreviation may be used.
For sources with DOI numbers, it is recommended that DOI information обязательно be included in the references.
13. WORD LIMIT
The manuscript text, excluding references, must not exceed 8000 words.
14. PUBLICATION FEE AND OPEN ACCESS
Publication Fee:
No fee is charged to authors for the manuscript evaluation and publication process in JGTTR.
Open Access Policy:
JGTTR is an open-access journal. Published content is made available to readers free of charge and in line with the principle of open access.
15. FINAL CHECK
Before submitting the manuscript, authors are advised to check the following points:
• There is no information in the main file revealing the identity of the author
• The title, abstract, abstract, and keywords are complete
• The text has been prepared in Times New Roman, 12 pt, and 1.5 line spacing
• The heading system complies with the journal rules
• Tables and figures are correctly titled
• References and in-text citations comply with APA 7
• Issues requiring ethics committee / consent / permission / copyright are clearly stated
• Necessary checks have been made in terms of similarity and plagiarism
