Ailesinde Sigara İçme Hikayesi Olan 6-14 Yaş Grubu Çocukların Solunum Fonksiyon Testlerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Year 2019, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 34 - 39, 01.08.2019

Abstract

Evaluation of Pulmonary Function Tests of Children with Family Smoking History Between Ages of 6-14 Years

Year 2019, Volume: 2 Issue: 2, 34 - 39, 01.08.2019

Abstract

Objectives: In this study, the pulmonary function of children between ages of 6-14 years, with or without family smoking history were evaluated. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. Children with non smoking family history were named as group 1 while the other group 2. Results: Through the student t-test, mean age, FVC and FEV1 values in group 1 were;82; 1931627 ml,1729566 ml; in group 2 were;81, 1786453, 1589733 respectively. No statistical significant difference was found between the groups in terms of socio-demographic characteristics of the families. In second group, FVC and FEV1 parameters were found less than the first group in the linear regression analysis. for FVC r = 0.903, 0.840, for FEV1 r = 0.883, 0.849 . Conclusion: To show the difference between groups there were statistically no significant differences is difficult in a cross-sectional study, but the regression analysis gives us clue about the existence of such difference
