ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN FİZİKSEL AKTİVİTE DÜZEYLERİ İLE VÜCUT KOMPOZİSYONLARI ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma ile üniversitede okumakta olan öğrencilerin fiziksel aktivite seviyeleri ve vücut kompozisyon parametreleri ile cinsiyetler arasındaki ilişkinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Araştırmaya gönüllü olarak katılan 62 erkek 40 kız toplam 102 öğrenci araştırmanın evrenini oluşmuştur. Katılımcılardan Uluslararası Fiziksel Aktivite Anketi’nin kısa formu (UFAA_KF) doldurtularak takip eden 2 gün içinde vücut kompozisyonları Tanita BF 556 marka vücut analiz cihazı ile analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen tüm değişkenler SPSS v25 paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Cinsiyetlere ait değişkenlerin ortalamalarının karşılaştırılmasında İndepended t-testi kullanılmıştır. Tüm değişkenlerin ortalamalarının karşılaştırılmasında ise parametrik testlerden Pearson korelasyon testi uygulanmıştır. P<0.05 seviyesinin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu varsayılmıştır.
Bulgular: Yapılan bu çalışmanın en önemli bulgularından biri katılımcıların total MET değeri ile yağ oranları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olmasıdır (p=0,024). Kız öğrencilerin ortalama vücut ağırlığı 60,34±7,89 iken erkek öğrencilerin 75,14±6,72, kız öğrencilerin VKİ değeri ortalaması 21,26±2,49 iken erkek öğrencilerin VKİ değer ortalaması 23,90±3,39 olarak kaydedilmiştir. Cinsiyetler arasında total MET değerleri arasında (sırasıyla kadılarda 5823,85±2277,91; erkelerde 9641,12±5329,55) istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmiştir (p=0.021).
Sonuç: Çalışmadan elde ettiğimiz bulgulara göre vücut kompozisyonu değerleri ile total MET değerleri arasında ilişki olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Ancak çalışmanın en önemli bulgularından biri cinsiyetler arasındaki fiziksel aktivite düzeylerindeki anlamlı farklılık olmuştur. Bu sonuçlardan yola çıkarak, kadınların fiziksel aktivitelere katılım oranını arttırmak ve desteklemek için yerel ve ulusal düzeyde paydaşlarında dahil olacağı çözümlerin ivedilikle üretilmesi önemli bir sorundur.
