Günümüz dünyasında etkin bir vatandaşın sahip olması gereken becerilerden biri politik okuryazarlık bir diğeri ise sosyal katılım becerisidir. Bu becerilerin bireylere erken yaşlardan itibaren kazandırılması oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Bu araştırma ile ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerin politik okuryazarlık becerileri ile sosyal katılım becerileri arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Araştırma, 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılınca Aydın ili Efeler ilçesindeki devlet ve özel ilkokullarda öğrenim gören 1010 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma metotlarından ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Politik Okuryazarlık Ölçeği ve Sosyal Katılım Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın veri toplama süreci gerekli izinlerin alınmasının ardından devlet ve özel ilkokullarda öğrenim gören 4. sınıf öğrencilerine sınıf öğretmenlerinin izni ve yardımlarıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Toplanan verilerin analizinde bağımsız örneklem t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi ve basit doğrusal korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda öğrencilerin politik okuryazarlık ve sosyal katılım becerilerinin yüksek düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Elde edilen veriler araştırmacı tarafından belirlenen yedi değişkene göre de incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin politik okuryazarlık ve sosyal katılım düzeyleri arasında pozitif ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu araştırmanın farklı değişkenler kullanılarak, farklı bir çalışma grubu kullanılarak ya da farklı bir metodoloji kullanılarak tasarlanması ve uygulanması önerilebilir.

As a social being, human beings must keep up with the changes and developments in our world. In order to achieve this, they need to be conscious, literate and active participant individuals. At this point, one of the skills that an active citizen should have is political literacy and the other is social participation skills. It is very important for individuals to acquire these skills from an early age. With this research, the relationship between political literacy skills and social participation skills of 4th grade primary school students was examined. The research was carried out with 1010 students studying in public and private primary schools in Aydın province Efeler district in the 2021-2022 academic year. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The Political Literacy Scale and the Social Participation Scale developed by the researchers were used to collect the data. The data collection process of the research was carried out with the permission and assistance of the classroom teachers to the 4th grade students studying in public and private primary schools after the necessary permissions were obtained. Independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance and simple linear correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the collected data. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that the students' political literacy and social participation skills were at a high level. The data obtained were also analyzed according to seven variables determined by the researcher. As a result of the research, it was found that there is a positive and significant relationship between the political literacy and social participation levels of primary school 4th grade students. It can be suggested that different studies be conducted using different variables, study group and method related to this research topic.
