While intensive use of smartphones worldwide facilitates daily life, it also brings forth various sources of fear, anxiety, and health issues. This study aims to investigate two of these problems: nomophobia (fear of being without a phone) and social media addiction. The study was conducted using quantitative research methods and a relational survey model. The sample group consisted of 12th-grade students. Data were obtained from a total of 541 students using the accessible sample method. Personal information forms, the nomophobia scale, and the social media addiction scale were used as data collection tools. Parametric tests such as independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson correlation test were conducted using SPSS software on the data set showing normal distribution. According to the main results obtained, the general level of nomophobia among students was found to be moderate. It was observed that as the time spent on smartphones and social media increased, the levels of nomophobia and social media addiction also increased. Additionally, a significant positive correlation was found between students' levels of nomophobia and social media addiction. It is recommended to focus on awareness training for students regarding technology use, time management, and digital detox.
