Perception of Sustainability Healthcare Workers: Yalova Example
Abstract
Abstract
Problem Statement:
This study focuses on increasing the awareness of sustainability perceptions among healthcare workers in Yalova and aims to positively influence the social structure within the healthcare sector. This cross-sectional descriptive study was designed to examine the sustainability perceptions of healthcare workers in Yalova and to provide recommendations for how an ideal sustainable healthcare management structure should be formed. Participants were selected through a random sampling method. The research population consisted of all healthcare workers in Yalova. Data were collected from 201 healthcare professionals through a questionnaire administered both face-to-face and online. The SPSS software was used for data analysis. Quantitative data were analyzed using statistical methods such as t-tests and ANOVA, while qualitative data were analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the level of sustainability perception among healthcare workers is moderate. Since healthcare services are directly related to human life, delivering high-quality healthcare is of great importance. Based on the results, it is recommended that sustainability-related data be regularly evaluated, and in-service training programs be developed accordingly to increase sustainability awareness among healthcare workers. Additionally, more emphasis should be placed on courses related to the provision of high-quality and sustainable healthcare services within educational curricula.
