This research was conducted to determine the effects of different seed amount treatments on
hydroponic barley (Hordeum vulgare L. conv. distichon) grass in the conditioning chamber of Karabük University
Eskipazar Vocational School Crop and Animal Production Department between the dates of 15.04.2016 and
15.07.2016. In the study were investigated the effects of different seed amount (S1: 1.1, S2: 2.2, S3: 3.3, S4: 4.4,
S5: 5.5 ve S6: 6.6 kg m-2) treatments on green fodder yield, green fodder grain-1 rate, dry matter rate and losses,
crude protein gains, plant height, and root lenght, crude nutrient (crude protein, ash, fat and fiber) contents, cell
wall components (NDF, ADF, ADL), metabolic energy values and mineral elements (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu, Mn,
Zn ve Na) content. According to the results of the research, the highest green fodder seed ratio-1, crude protein gain,
root length, P, Zn and Na values and lowest dry matter losses were obtained from S1 treatment in different seed
amount treatments. The highest crude ash and Ca values were obtained from S5 application while the highest crude
protein, NDF, N and Mg values were obtained from S2 treatment. The highest green fodder yield, plant height,
ADL, metabolic energy, K, Fe and Mn values were obtained from S6 applications. S1 seed amount treatments can
be recommendable in order to produce hydroponic green barley fodder in which having high green fodder seed
ratio-1 and crude protein gain and low dry matter losses.
