Cerrahi işlemlerde pıhtının oluşmasına yardımcı olan hemostatik maddeler bazı durumlarda ortamın asidlte-sini arttırarak yaranın iyileşmesini geciktirmektedir. Bu nedenle bu maddelerin ortamın pH'ına etkileri önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, hemostatik maddelerden Surgicel, Bone

Wax ve Spongostan'ın vücut sıvılarının pH'ma etkileri araştırılmıştır. Surgicel'in pH'ı azalttığı, diğerlerinin değiştirmediği bulunmuştur.

The hemostatic agents which help the clot to form in Surgicel procedures, cause a delay in the healing of the wound by increasing the acidity of the medium. For this reason, the effect of these substances on pH of the medium is important. In this research the effect of Surgicel, Bone Wax and Spongostan of these substances on pH of the body fluids have been investigated.

It is detected that Surgicel decreases pH, whereas the others dont change.
