THE POSITION OF TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS IN GLOBAL CRISIS

Abstract

In the globalization process, it is discussed on capital turn towards crossborder investments to compensate falling profit rates. In this process, it appears that it has to be realized via the transnational capital investment and transnational corporations. In this study, the impact of the global crisis of 2008 was examined in terms of transnational corporations. In the study results, the globalization crisis reveal different results than previous crises and nation states are insufficient to solve these problems, increased mergers and acquisitions during crisis has let to monopolization and increased inequality between capital and labour. “High interactive transnational corporations” are the most affected companies by crisis. Furthermore, during the global crisis, foreign direct investment from developing countries’ TNCs have increased in comparison to developed countries’ TNCs.

ULUSÖTESİ ŞİRKETLERİN KÜRESEL KRİZ SÜRECİNDEKİ KONUMLARI

Abstract

Küreselleşme ile birlikte, sermayenin düşen kar oranlarını telafi edebilmek için sınırötesi yatırımlara yönelmesi sözkonusu olmuştur. Bu süreçte, sermayenin ulusötesileştiği ve yatırımların ulusötesi şirketler aracılığıyla gerçekleştirildiği gözlenmektedir. Bu çalışmada,2008 yılı ile birlikte küresel krizin etkisi bu şirketler açısından incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda ulaşılan sonuçlar şöyle sıralanmıştır; küreselleşmenin krizi, önceki krizlere göre farklı sonuçlar ortaya çıkarmaktadır ve ulus devlet bu sorunları çözmekte yetersiz kalmaktadır. Kriz sürecinde, artan şirket birleşme ve satın almaları, tekelleşmeye neden olmuştur ve emek ile sermaye arası eşitsizliği artırmıştır. “yüksek etkileşime sahip” ulusötesi finansal şirketlerin krizden en fazla etkilenen şirketler olduğu gözlenmektedir. Ayrıca kriz sürecinde gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ulusötesi şirketlerinin, gelişmiş ülke ulusötesi şirketlerine nazaran DYY’ları artmıştır
