Abstract

Lias aged antracite deposit at East Pontides was thought to contain graphite upon prospecting. During the exploration work started in this direction, coal petrography studies were carried out besides the geologic and tectonic evoluation of the area. At the result of the research study, coalification degree of the Lias aged deposit was determined by reflection measurements. High coalification degree, being affected by granite ascendance corresponds to Laramian phase. In this paper, only results obtained from the petrographic investigation of coal are given

Refleksiyon Ölçümleri Yardımıyla Kömürleşme Derecesinin Saptanması ve Metodun Değirmentaşı (Artvin) Antrasit Yatağına Uygulanması

Abstract

Doğu Pontidler’de bulunan Diyas yaşlı antrasit yatağı, ön etüdler sonucunda grafit olabileceği sanılmıştır. Bu amaçla başlayan etüdler esnasında, sahanın jeolojik ve tektonik etüdünün yanı sıra kömür petrografisi açısından incelemeler yürütülmüştür, incelemeler sonucunda Liyas yaşlı yatağın kesin kömürleşme derecesi refleksiyon ölçümleri yardımıyla saptanmıştır. Yüksek kömürleşme Laramiyen fazda yükselen granit etkisiyle olmuştur. Bu makalede yalnız kömür petrografisi sonucunda elde edilen neticeler özetle verilmiştir.
