Senfonik Orkestra Seçmelerinde Yer Alan Keman Repertuvarı ve Değerlendirme Ölçütlerine Yönelik Bir İnceleme

Öz

Senfonik orkestra seçmelerinde keman repertuvarı; adayların teknik, stilistik ve yorumlama yeterliliklerini objektif bir biçimde değerlendirebilmek amacıyla seçilen eserlerin belirli pasajlarından oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, orkestra elemanı seçme sınavlarına katılan keman sanatçılarından talep edilen orkestra repertuvarı incelenmiş ve bu eserlerin tercih edilme nedenleri belirlenen eserler üzerinden örneklenerek değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmada farklı senfonik orkestraların repertuvarlarında bulunan Mendelssohn, Schumann, Strauss, Mozart, Beethoven gibi bestecilerin eserlerinden sıkça tercih edilen pasajların, seçmelere katılan keman sanatçılarının değerlendirilmesinde neden önemli olduğu incelenerek değerlendirme sürecinde dikkat edilen kriterler analiz edilmiştir. Bu yönüyle çalışma, nitel araştırma yöntemleri çerçevesinde seçmelerde kullanılan repertuvarın değerlendirme süreçlerindeki işlevini daha bütüncül bir yaklaşımla ele alarak mevcut literatüre katkı sağlamayı ve gelecek araştırmalara referans oluşturmayı hedeflemektedir.

An Examination of the Violin Repertoire and Evaluation Criteria in Symphony Orchestra Auditions

Abstract

The violin repertoire for symphony orchestra auditions comprises specific passages from selected works, which are chosen for the objective assessment of applicants technical, stylistic and interpretative abilities. The present study examines the orchestra repertoire required of violinists participating in orchestra member auditions and evaluates the reasons for selecting these works through examples of the identified pieces. The study examined the reasons why frequently selected passages from works by composers such as Mendelssohn, Schumann, Strauss, Mozart, and Beethoven, found in the repertoires of different symphony orchestras, are important in the evaluation of violinists participating in auditions, and analysed the criteria considered in the evaluation process. In this respect, the study aims to contribute to the extant literature and serve as a reference for future research by addressing the function of the repertoire used in auditions in the evaluation process with a more holistic approach within the framework of qualitative research methods.
