Sustainability in the digital entrepreneurship ecosystem

Abstract

By changing and upending the dynamics of the economy and society as a whole, digital technologies offer entrepreneurs new opportunities with potential impact on economic, environmental and social value creation. Despite the well-known benefits of digital entrepreneurship and the digital business ecosystem, the implementation of emerging technologies and modern business models inevitably brings with it sustainable management challenges (deterioration/exposure of security vulnerabilities in social networks, additional socio-technical pressure for both network auditors and officials, etc.). In the study, the sustainability dimension in digital entrepreneurship is examined from economic, social and environmental perspectives. In addition, the study aims to provide a critical review of the scientific literature and an overview of the sustainability aspect of digital entrepreneurship and digital business ecosystem areas. In the method part of the research, the results of multiple independent researches made in the dimension of sustainability in the digital entrepreneurship ecosystem in the national and international literature were combined by using the meta-analysis method. With the study, a critical review of the scientific literature and an overview of the sustainability dimension of the digital entrepreneurship digital business ecosystem areas are presented. In addition, using the MAXQDA 2022 qualitative data analysis, the most frequently repeated words in the abstracts of the articles examined and the subject/variables discussed were conceptualized by word cloud analysis. The article describes the conceptual framework of the terms digital entrepreneurship and sustainability together.
