Safranbolu Safranının Tarihsel Dönüşümü: Osmanlı Arşiv Belgeleri ve Seyahatnamelerinden Görüşler

Öz

The study titled "The History of Safranbolu Saffron Through Ottoman Archival Documents and Travelogues" discusses the history of saffron agriculture in Safranbolu in detail through Ottoman archival documents and travelogues. The study begins with archival records of saffron farming activities dating back to the 16th century and presents financial records of the villages in this region related to saffron production. These records highlight the importance of saffron in the regional economy.
The document also includes assessments of how Safranbolu saffron is perceived by travel writers, especially highlighting exports to India and Constantinople. The observations in these travelogues reveal the economic effects and social perceptions of saffron in different time periods.
This comprehensive study, which brings together Ottoman archives and travel writings, presents the deep-rooted history of saffron cultivation in Safranbolu and the effects of this economic activity on the local culture with a rich narrative.
