General Writing Guidelines
JOINBAT accepts submissions in either Turkish or English. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process. The full-text file must not contain any information identifying the authors. Authors are required to perform a similarity scan and upload the resulting report along with their manuscript.
Manuscripts must be submitted electronically as MS Word files. The page layout, font, and point sizes are detailed and applied within the journal template. Figures, graphs, images, formulas, and tables must be original or generated in a high-resolution, camera-ready format and embedded directly within the text. The Editor and the Editorial Board are not responsible for converting these elements into electronic format.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal will be evaluated according to the writing rules checklist, and non-compliant manuscripts will be returned to the authors for correction.
Title Page: The title page file must be uploaded separately from the manuscript text. This file must include information for all authors, corresponding author details, declarations, and the "Human and Animal Rights" sections. You can access the Turkish and English title page templates for JOINBAT. Manuscripts must be uploaded to the system using the Corresponding Author's name and surname. All authors listed in the article are required to obtain an individual ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) number from http://orcid.org and provide this number on the title page. The corresponding author must add all authors to the DergiPark system during submission.
The full-text file must include the following sections: Title, Abstract, Keywords, English Title, English Abstract, English Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Findings, Discussion, Conclusion, and References. You can also access the full-text template in Turkish and English from the link.
Abstract: The abstract should be written in 10-point font with single line spacing. It must contain approximately 300 words. The abstract should be a standalone, non-citation summary that briefly states the research objective, methodology, and primary results. It must be written as a single paragraph. No subheadings should be used within the abstract. Furthermore, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided; if necessary, they must be defined upon first mention within the abstract itself.
Keywords: keyword1, keyword2, keyword3 (Minimum 3, maximum 5 keywords). Authors are advised to provide 3-5 keywords separated by commas. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes. Only the first letter of the first keyword should be capitalized.
*Turkish and English abstracts must be consistent with each other.
Research articles must consist of Introduction, Methodology, Findings, Discussion, and Conclusion sections. Main headings should be 12-point and numbered. Subheadings should be 11-point. All sections must be justified, written in 11-point Times New Roman font with 1.15 line spacing. All references must be prepared in accordance with APA 7 style.
Tables and figures should be placed in appropriate locations within the text. Titles must be placed above tables and below figures. Table and figure titles should be 10-point. Table titles must be italicized. Any abbreviations used must be defined in the explanatory notes below the figure, image, table, or graph. If previously published figures, images, tables, or graphs are used, written permission must be obtained; this permission must be stated in the caption and the original source must be cited.
References: All references must be 10-point, justified, with 6 pt spacing between each entry. Author(s) must ensure that the information in every cited source is complete and accurate. Grey literature (unverifiable websites, news portals, social media, Wikipedia, etc.) should not be used as references. Acceptable references include scientific literature (journals, online books, proceedings, patents, and original websites with permanent archiving policies). Authors are encouraged to include recent references (from the last 5 years).
All references must strictly follow APA 7 style. All sources must be accurately cited within the text; do not include sources in the reference list that are not cited in the main body.
