Abstract

1929 yılında kurulan Milli İktisat ve Tasarruf Cemiyeti, 1930’lu yıllarda dönemin iktisat politikasına uygun olarak vatandaşlarda yeni tüketim normunun ve alışkanlıklarının benimsenmesini sağlamak amacıyla, Türkiye halkla ilişkiler tarihi için önem taşıyan iletişimsel çalışmalar yürütmüştür. Bu çalışmada Cemiyetin halkla ilişkiler çalışmaları, kültürel devinim yaklaşımını temel alan kültürel-ekonomik model çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Milli İktisat ve Tasarruf Cemiyeti’nin 1930’lu yıllarda yerli malı kullanımının ve tasarrufta bulunmanın teşvikini sağlamak için planladığı ve uyguladığı halkla ilişkiler çalışmaları kültürel devinimin üretim, temsil, düzenleme, kimlik ve tüketim uğrakları bağlamında tarihsel vaka incelemesi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir.
