Journal of Special Education Research and Practice (JOSPER) is an international, peer-reviewed, scholarly, and open-access journal published by Bartın University. The journal aims to publish original, high-quality research that makes meaningful scientific contributions to the field of special education.
The primary aim of JOSPER is to advance the existing scholarly literature by publishing research that contributes to the independence, social participation, and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
The journal’s target audience includes individuals with disabilities, researchers and professionals working in the field of special education, families, and other members of the community.
JOSPER welcomes studies that contribute to meeting the educational and social needs of individuals with special needs, developing independent living skills, and enhancing their participation in social life.
JOSPER follows a Continuous Publication model, enabling accepted manuscripts to be published as promptly as possible and assigned to the earliest available issue.
The language of submission and publication is English only. Manuscripts prepared in languages other than English are not considered for publication.
JOSPER employs a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors are concealed from reviewers and the identities of reviewers are concealed from authors. All submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editorial team for their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, scientific quality, compliance with the author guidelines, ethical declarations, and similarity. Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary evaluation are subsequently evaluated by independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
The editorial and publication processes of JOSPER are conducted in accordance with the principles of research and publication ethics, editorial independence, impartiality in peer review, transparency, academic integrity, open access, and the free dissemination of scientific knowledge. The journal takes into consideration national and international standards of scholarly publishing and established principles of publication ethics.
Authors bear full responsibility for the scientific, ethical, legal, and linguistic aspects of their published work.
JOSPER adopts an open-access publishing model. All articles published in the journal are freely and immediately accessible upon publication without any access fees, subscription requirements, registration requirements, or embargo periods.
