Aim & Scope

Journal of Special Education Research and Practice (JOSPER) is an international, peer-reviewed, scholarly, and open-access journal that aims to publish original, high-quality studies making meaningful scientific contributions to the field of special education.

The primary aim of JOSPER is to contribute to the advancement of the literature in special education by publishing research that supports the independence, social participation, and well-being of individuals with disabilities.

The journal covers scholarly studies in the field of special education, including, but not limited to, the education of individuals with special needs; the teaching of academic skills, daily living and independent living skills, vocational skills, and self-determination skills; family education; and teacher education. JOSPER also welcomes studies addressing the educational and social needs of individuals with disabilities, enhancing their quality of life, and promoting their participation in community and social life.

The journal publishes research articles, review articles, reviews, translations, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, clinical research articles, case reports, book reviews, and other scholarly publication types that fall within the journal’s aims and scope.

The journal’s target audience includes individuals with disabilities, researchers and professionals working in the field of special education, families, and other members of the community.

Manuscripts submitted to JOSPER are expected to fall within the journal’s aims and scope, be grounded in appropriate scientific research methods, make an original contribution to the field, and comply with established principles of research and publication ethics. The language of publication is English only.
