7. Sınıf Fen Bilimleri Ders Kitabında Kimya Kavramlarına Yönelik Analojilerin Tespiti

Abstract

Bu çalışmada 7. Sınıf Fen Bilimleri Ders Kitabında yer alan kimya kavramlarına yönelik analojilerin tespit edilerek analojilerin, Analojilerle Öğretim Modeli (Teaching-With-Analogies, TWA) basamaklarına göre uygunluk durumlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi yöntemi ile yapılmıştır. Veri kaynağı olarak 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim döneminde Millî Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı okullarda öğrencilere ücretsiz dağıtılan 7. Sınıf Fen Bilimleri Ders Kitabı kullanılmıştır. İfade edilen kavramlara yönelik analojiler ve analojilerin TWA uygunluk durumu iki fen bilimleri uzmanın ortak görüşleri ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda 7. sınıf Fen Bilimleri Ders Kitabında kimya kavramlarına yönelik 6 analoji (atom ve çekirdeği, Dalton atom modeli, Thomson atom modeli, Rutherford atom modeli, bileşiklerin formülle gösterimi, homojen karışımlar) bulunduğu belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen analojiler, TWA basamaklarına göre incelendiğinde beş analojide TWA’nın ilk dört basamağı uygulanırken beşinci basamak atlanarak son basamağa geçildiği tespit edilmiş, bir analojinin ise TWA basamaklarının tamamına uygun şekilde hazırlandığı anlaşılmıştır.

Determination of Analogies for the Chemistry Concepts in the 7th Grade Science Textbook

Abstract

In the present study, it was aimed to determine the analogies for the chemistry concepts in the 7th-grade science textbook and to examine their appropriateness according to the Teaching-With-Analogies (TWA) steps. The study was conducted using the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods. As a data source, the 7th-grade science textbook, which is distributed to students free of charge in the schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the 2020-2021 school year and published on Education and Information Network, was used. The appropriateness of the analogies according to the TWA and the analogies used to express the concepts were determined by the joint opinions of two science experts. The study revealed that there were six analogies (atom and its nucleus, Dalton’s atomic model, Thomson’s atomic model, Rutherford’s atomic model, representation of compounds by formula, homogeneous mixtures) for the concepts of chemistry in the 7th-grade science textbook. When the analogies were examined according to TWA steps, it was determined that in five analogies, the first four steps of TWA were applied, the fifth step was skipped and passed to the last step. On the other hand, an analogy was found to be prepared in accordance with all TWA steps.
