Publication Policy
The Journal of Transportation Management Research (JOTMAR) adheres to the principles of producing, developing, and sharing knowledge in a scientific and objective manner. All participants in the publication process (publisher, editor, reviewer, author) are expected to act in accordance with ethical standards at every stage. The publication ethics of the journal are based on the principles outlined in the "Directive on Scientific Research and Publication Ethics of Higher Education Institutions" in Türkiye.
JOTMAR is a peer-reviewed journal published biannually (April and October) by Ege University. The journal accepts articles written in Turkish and English. It publishes original research articles and review papers in all areas related to transportation and logistics across all modes of transport, including transportation economics, transportation policies, transportation management, and supply chain management.
Articles submitted to JOTMAR must not have been previously published or submitted elsewhere for publication. All authors are required to submit a Copyright Transfer Form upon submission. By doing so, authors confirm that their manuscript is an original work, that it does not contain any plagiarism, and that they individually contributed to the research and accept full responsibility for the content. They also declare that the manuscript has not been published, accepted, or submitted elsewhere.
No royalties or copyright fees are paid for manuscripts published in JOTMAR.
Authors are solely responsible for the scientific and legal content of their published articles. The views and opinions expressed in the articles belong to the authors and do not reflect the views of the journal or its affiliated institutions.
All submissions must comply with the journal’s Manuscript Formatting Guidelines. In addition, every manuscript undergoes a preliminary evaluation for similarity. In line with the journal’s ethical standards, submissions with a similarity rate higher than 15% (excluding the references section) as detected by plagiarism detection software will be returned to the authors without further review.
Manuscripts that meet the formatting and similarity requirements will be sent to at least two reviewers for evaluation of their content. JOTMAR applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential. Manuscripts receiving negative evaluations from reviewers will not be published. Manuscripts requiring revisions will be returned to the authors for necessary changes.
Ethical Guidelines
If a submitted study involves the collection of data from human participants via surveys, interviews, focus groups, experiments, or similar methods, or the use of such data for scientific or experimental purposes, an Ethics Committee Approval Document must be obtained prior to submission.
For studies that do not require ethics committee approval, authors are required to submit a declaration form stating that their study does not require such approval. This form is available in the “Forms” section of the journal website.
