Abstract

Abstract

This research was aimed to investigate the effects of ascorbic acid and acetylsalicylic acid on hatching results under artificial heat stress. In the research, 12.000 hatching eggs which obtained from ATAK-S parents were used as research material. Eggs were sprayed 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 g/L solutions of ascorbic acid and acetylsalicylic acid at the 4rd and 14rd days of incubation. On the 18th day of incubation eggs were separated two groups as high (38.5℃) or normal (37.2℃) temperature treatment. At the end of hatching period, hatchability of eggs, hatchability of eggs fertile, weight of chicks, chick quality and late embryo deaths were recorded. The cortisol, a stress marker, levels were determined from blood of 10 chicks from each treatment group. According to our results It was evaluated the effectiveness of ascorbic acid’s and acetylsalicylic acid’s on preventing the negative effects of heat stress. Considering the factors discussed in the experiment; it was concluded that acetyl salicylic acid is more effective than ascorbic acid application. In addition, it was concluded that normal temperature application according to high temperature application and the effects of 10 g/L dose on incubation activities and some stress parameters were positive from 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 g/L doses of both acid groups.
