GASTROENTERİT NEDENLİ UZUN SÜRELİ ÇÖMELME POZİSYONUNA BAĞLI GELİŞEN BİLATERAL DÜŞÜK AYAK

Abstract

Periferik sinir tutulumu ile ilgili klinik tablolar travma, cerrahi, postural bozukluklardan kaynaklanan sıkışma ve gerilmeye bağlı veya idiopatik olarak ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Peroneal sinir genellikle fibula başı veya boyun kısmında sıkışır ve genellikle tek taraflı etkilenir. Travmalar, herediter nöropatiler, metabolik ve sistemik hastalıklar, enfeksiyonlar, Guillane Barre sendromu, gebelik, kronik inflamatuvar demiyelinizan polinöropati gibi nedenlere bağlı olarak iki taraflı peroneal etkilenme görülebilmektedir Uzun süreli postür değişikliğine bağlı peroneal etkilenme oldukça nadirdir. Olgumuzda gastroenterit nedenli uzun süreli çömelme pozisyonunun ardından bilateral düşük ayak gelişmiş ve elektrofizyolojik testler sonucunda bilateral peroneal sinir tutulumu tespit edilmiştir. Hasta uygulanan fizyoterapi programı sonrası tam düzelme göstermiştir.

Bilateral Drop Foot Due to the Long Term Squatting Position Caused by Gastroenteritis

Abstract

Clinical manifestations of peripheral nerve involvement may occur idiopathically or due to compression and tension caused by trauma, surgery, postural disorders. The peroneal nerve is usually pinched at the fibular head or neck and is usually affected unilaterally. Bilateral peroneal involvement can be seen due to causes such as traumas, hereditary neuropathies, metabolic and systemic diseases, infections, Guillane Barré syndrome, pregnancy, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. Peroneal involvement due to long-term change of posture is extremely rare. In our case, bilateral drop foot developed after prolonged squatting due to gastroenteritis and bilateral peroneal nerve involvement was detected as a result of electrophysiological tests. The patient showed complete recovery after the physiotherapy program.
