The Role Of Green Creative Self-Efficacy In The Relationship Between Green Transformational Leadership and Employee Green Innovative Service Behavior: A Research In Hotel Businesses

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the role of green creative self-efficacy perception in the effect of green transformational leadership on employees' green innovative service behavior. One of the main rationales for this study is that the role of green transformational leadership and green creative self-efficacy variables, which are prerequisites for revealing the green creative behaviors expected from employees in the development of environmentally friendly services in accommodation businesses, has not been previously investigated. For this purpose, data were obtained from employees of 5-star hotels operating in Istanbul via a questionnaire form. Statistical package programs were used to measure the theoretical model and test the hypotheses. According to the findings, green creative self-efficacy has a partial or complementary mediating role between green transformational leadership and employees' green innovative service behavior. In other words, green transformational leadership has a positive effect on both green creative self-efficacy and green innovative service behavior. In short, green transformational leadership positively affects employees' green innovative service behavior both directly and indirectly through employees' green creative self-efficacy perceptions. On the other hand, no significant difference was found in terms of research control variables (age, gender, marital status, education, income, department, position, duration of total experience, duration of workplace experience). As a result, it is understood that when a shared common goal is set to inspire employees with green transformational leadership in hotel businesses, a work environment that encourages employees to generate new ideas by showing individual attention to employees, positive changes are created in employees' perceptions of their creative abilities and skills to achieve and exceed the set goals, and this situation positively affects employees' environmentally sensitive innovative service behaviors in existing services.

Yeşil Dönüşümcü Liderlik ve Çalışan Yeşil Yenilikçi Hizmet Davranışı Arasındaki İlişkide Yeşil Yaratıcı Öz Yeterliliğin Rolü: Otel İşletmelerinde Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı; yeşil dönüşümcü liderliğin çalışanların yeşil yenilikçi hizmet davranışı üzerindeki etkisinde yeşil yaratıcı özyeterlilik algısının rolünü belirlemektedir. Konaklama işletmelerinin çevre dostu hizmetlerin geliştirilmesinde çalışanlardan arzu edilen yeşil yaratıcı davranışın ortaya çıkartılabilmesinin öncülleri olarak yeşil dönüşümcü liderlik ve yeşil yaratıcı özyeterlilik değişkenlerin rolünün daha önce araştırılmamış olması araştırmanın temel gerekçelerinden birini oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaçla İstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren 5 yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde çalışanlardan anket formu aracılılığıyla veriler elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde, bir başka ifade ile araştırmada kurgulanan teorik modelin ölçümü ve hipotezlerin test edilmesinde istatistiki paket programlarından yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre yeşil yaratıcı özyeterlilik, yeşil dönüşüm liderlik ile çalışanların yeşil yenilikçi hizmet davranışı arasında kısmen veya tamamlayıcı aracılık rolü vardır. Bir diğer anlatımla, yeşil dönüşümcü liderlik hem yeşil yaratıcı özyeterlilik hem de yeşil yenilikçi hizmet davranışı üzerinde olumlu bir etkiye sahiptir. Ezcümle, yeşil dönüşümcü liderlik hem doğrudan hem de çalışanların yeşil yaratıcı özyeterlilik algıları üzerinden dolaylı olarak çalışanların yeşil yenilikçi hizmet davranışlarını olumlu etkilemektedir. Öte yandan, araştırma kontrol değişkenleri açısından (yaş, cinsiyet, medeni durum, eğitim, gelir, çalışılan departman, görev, toplam deneyim süresi, işyeri deneyim süresi) anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilememiştir. Sonuç olarak, otel işletmelerinde yeşil dönüşümcü liderlik ile çalışanlarına ilham oluşturacak şekilde paylaşılmış ortak bir hedef belirlendiğinde, çalışanlara bireysel ilgi göstererek yeni fikirler üretilmesini teşvik edici bir iş ortamı sunulduğunda, çalışanların belirlenen hedeflere ulaşması ve ötesinde bir başarı elde etmesi için yaratıcı yetenek ve becerilerine yönelik algılarında pozitif değişimler yaratıldığı, bu durumun da çalışanların mevcut hizmetlerde çevreye duyarlı inovatif hizmet davranışlarını zincirleme olumlu yönde etkilediği anlaşılmaktadır.
