Examining Classroom Teachers’ Views about Their Competencies Concerning the Integration of Technology

Abstract

The present study aimed to reveal what classroom teachers think about their competencies about the integration of technology. This study is important to lead other researchers to investigate similar studies. The study is a qualitative and phenomenology study. Participants are 6 classroom teachers who were chosen by criterion sampling method. The research data were collected by an open-ended questionnaire and interwievs were recorded. Descriptive analysis technique which is a qualitative research method was used to analyze the data. The results indicated that the in-service classroom teachers require participating in such courses on technology and pedagogy for their professional development and teachers’ experiences with technology integration and their education status significantly affect their views about their own competencies. As a result of this research, suggestions were developed

Sınıf Öğretmenlerinin Teknolojinin Öğretime Entegrasyonundaki Öğretmen Yeterliklerine İlişkin Görüşlerinin İrdelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada sınıf öğretmenlerinin teknoloji entegrasyonunda öğretmenin sahip olması gereken yeterlikler ile ilgili neler düşündükleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışma benzer konularda araştırma yapacak olan diğer araştırmacılara öncülük yapması noktasında önem taşımaktadır. Araştırma nitel bir çalışma olup olgu bilim deseninde tasarlanmıştır. Katılımcılar bir ilköğretim okulunda çalışmakta olan 6 sınıf öğretmenidir. Katılımcıların seçiminde ölçüt tipi örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmış; görüşmeler ses kayıt cihazına kaydedilmiştir. Veriler betimsel yöntemle analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular öğretmenlerin teknoloji, pedagoji ve alan etkileşimi konusunda mesleki gelişime ihtiyaç duyduklarını ve teknolojinin öğretime entegrasyonu konusunda deneyimleri, aldıkları eğitim ve eğitim düzeylerinin yeterlik konusundaki düşüncelerini etkilediği görülmüştür. Çalışma, bu konuda önerilerle son bulmuştur
