Political Power For 28 Days: Salih Pasha Government (8 March 1920-4 April 1920)
Abstract
The government of Salih Pasha, one of the short-lived governments of the armistice commission, was founded on March 8, 1920 and resigned with a party on April 4, 1920. The government named Salih Pasha a goverment of misfortune. Because one of the darkest days of Turkish history was experienced in this period, 16 March 1920 the capital of the Ottoman State was officially occupied. Although Salih Pasha had taken his place in history as an occupied capital's grand vizier, he showed resistance that could be considered important against the occupiers. As a result of these developments, the National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey was opened. The aim of this study is to draw attention to the government of Salih Pasha, who has not been much involved in the search for other governments of the armistice commission, but to make a relevant step in the process. While this work was being done, the road came out of memories related to the period. The memories of those who have experienced the events themselves are taken as references. It is our hope that the work of the Salih Pasha government will increase.
