Tekrar Satılabilir Ürünler için Gazeteci Çocuk Probleminin Çelişen Amaçlar Altında İncelenmesi

Year 2010, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 146 - 163, 15.07.2010

Abstract

The Newsvendor Problem for Resalable Products with Conflicting Objectives

Year 2010, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 146 - 163, 15.07.2010

Abstract

Towards developing marketing strategies, the policies of competitive companies have focus on customer satisfaction. The occurrence of a return of a product that is sold to a customer has been increasingly common concept within marketing strategies. Towards this requirement, determining the inventory policy with newsboy problem for return products have been recognized frequently in the literature, recently. Besides the newsvendor problem is known as an inventory model that optimizes the single period profit or cost function, there are many studies that examines the newsvendor problem under alternative objectives. The models that examine the order quantity that maximizes the probability of exceeding a prespecified profit level and the probability of an expected profit level are the most popular ones. In this study, the newsvendor problem for return products is examined under the two following objective functions and optimal order quantities are proposed for each objective function separately. The first objective is maximizing the expected profit level and the second one is maximizing the probability of exceeding the expected profit level. Furthermore, an optimum policy which optimizes both conflicting objective is inspected. Simulated demand data used in a context of a scenario to determine the optimal order policy under all three objective functions. Finally, sensitivity analysis of model parameters and economic interpretations are proposed.
